Ludlow Mill on the Green

An innovative small company has taken tenancy of the Mill's office suite, to research and design hydrogen-fuelled cars. The aptly named Riversimple LLP currently has six employees and expects to reach ten by year's end.

"This exactly suits the whole ethos of the Mill," enthuses the Trust's chairman, Paul Nicholls.

"We have our own water wheel representing the 'energy' technology of yesteryear, while this team upstairs is totally concerned with energy needs of the 21st century. It could not be better; suddenly Dinham attains new importance".

Riversimple is headed by 50 year old Hugo Spowers, an Oxford-educated engineer. The company has prototype facilities and workshops at Silverstone, but may also seek a workshop in Ludlow. A prototype Riversimple car was launched with much fanfare in London last summer. It is hoped that there will be occasional shows of the car at Dinham for the benefit of our Friends and visitors.
